For this 500sqft floating home, it was important to embrace subtlety in finishes to diminish the cumbersome presence of a conventional kitchen, and minimize the footprint of necessities to optimize the square footage available. The lake atmosphere should flow in and out of the structure effortlessly, bringing you into the environment.
Requests
Enlarge the feature window to embrace the lake and bridge vista and bring in all allowable natural light, making the interior feel bright and airy.
Conceal as many of the appliances as possible.
Shift the kitchen elements to allow more functional entertainment room.
Challenges
Floating homes, for one. This is no standard foundation and some work requires hiring scuba professionals.
